I enjoy working with Adult Students as well as with children.
Both experiences are very rewarding.
I teach both beginner and continuing students.
The most important tool in learning how to play a piano is to enjoy doing so. As we become adults we meet many physical challenges that prevent us from enjoying practicing. Students learn the importance of body mechanics. I help the individual student identify and overcome any challenges that might exist.
Students are introduced to different technical exercises that help to perfect various pianistic challenges. These exercises enhance the enjoyment of practicing.
Students learn genres and styles of piano music that they like the most: classical or contemporary, jazz or religious, R&B, just to name a few.
I also teach fundamentals of music theory, which is an integral part of piano playing.
